Sherrilynn Allen, MSW, LCSW

As a licensed clinical social worker, I am deeply committed to the transformative power of therapy. I firmly believe in the potential for change and the importance of hope, viewing our time together as a sacred opportunity for self-discovery, reflection, and healing. It’s a space where we can truly care for ourselves and address the issues that affect us.

With extensive experience in providing individual therapy, crisis intervention, debriefing services, and facilitating therapeutic groups, my practice is informed by advanced clinical training in trauma-informed care and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I am dedicated to providing client-centered care and operate from a strengths-based perspective, focusing on your inherent abilities and resilience.

In therapy, my role is to help you navigate your feelings, reactions, and behaviors in response to life’s challenges. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues, working with both adults and adolescents. My approach supports individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including self-esteem, addiction, past trauma, workplace stress, racial and social justice issues, family dynamics, and questions of faith. Together, we will explore and refine coping strategies, consider ways to radically accept reality, and employ mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills to build resilience and manage future difficulties.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy a range of hobbies and interests, including watching movies, home decorating, and traveling. As an empty nester with one adult daughter, I appreciate the value of personal growth and the journey of adapting to new stages in life.
