“Before we focus on changing your behavior, I want to help you understand and shift the thoughts and beliefs shaping it.”
Getting to know Sparkle
Do you constantly question yourself, worry about failing, or feel as though nothing you do is ever quite good enough? You may appear capable to others while privately struggling with anxiety, low confidence, imposter syndrome, or persistent negative thoughts.
I work with teens and adults navigating self-doubt, trauma, grief, burnout, and major life transitions. I particularly enjoy supporting college students, working professionals, athletes, mothers, first-time therapy clients, and Black women and men seeking affirming care.
My style is warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental. I take time to understand your needs and use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you recognize unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping skills, strengthen communication, and make positive changes. I believe therapy is collaborative: I bring clinical knowledge and support, while you bring essential knowledge about yourself and your life.

Who I Help
I work with women and men ages 15–35, including teenagers, college students, young adults, athletes, working professionals, new mothers, and clients attending therapy for the first time.
You may feel as though you are never doing enough or that one mistake means you have failed. You might compare yourself to other people, doubt your abilities, replay your decisions, or struggle to recognize your own strengths. Even when things appear to be going well, you may privately worry that you do not belong or that you will eventually disappoint everyone.
I may be a good fit if you are experiencing:
- Low self-esteem or difficulty recognizing your strengths
- Imposter syndrome or persistent self-doubt
- Anxiety, worry, panic, or fear of failure
- Perfectionism and sensitivity to criticism
- Negative self-talk, guilt, or shame
- Academic, athletic, or workplace pressure
- Burnout and emotional overwhelm
- Grief or a difficult life transition
- Trauma or painful past experiences
- Relationship or family conflict
- Difficulty setting boundaries
- Communication challenges
- Questions about identity, purpose, or your future
- Pregnancy, postpartum changes, or the transition into parenthood
I am especially interested in supporting Black women and men seeking culturally responsive care. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and approach your identity and lived experience with curiosity, humility, and respect.
My Approach
My approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding. Before focusing only on what you are doing, we will explore the thoughts, beliefs, fears, and experiences influencing your behavior.
I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. CBT can help us identify thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or unhelpful choices. A person-centered approach means that you will be met with empathy, authenticity, and respect rather than treated as a problem that needs to be fixed. Solution-focused work helps us recognize your strengths, identify what is already helping, and translate insight into manageable action.
No two clients need exactly the same thing. I adapt the tools we use according to your concerns, preferences, culture, personality, and goals. Therapy may include cognitive reframing, coping skills, positive self-talk, boundary-setting, stress management, communication practice, and concrete steps toward the changes you want to make.
I also believe that therapists can learn from their clients. You are the expert on your lived experience, and I want you to feel comfortable correcting me, asking questions, and participating actively in decisions about your care.
What to Expect in Therapy with Sparkle
You can expect therapy with me to feel supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. I will take time to understand what you are experiencing, what has and has not helped before, and what you want your life to look like outside the therapy room.
Our sessions may include:
- Honest conversations in a nonjudgmental environment
- Active listening and open communication
- Identifying persistent negative thought patterns
- Practicing cognitive reframing and more supportive self-talk
- Learning coping strategies for anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
- Building confidence in your decisions
- Strengthening boundaries and interpersonal communication
- Identifying practical steps toward your goals
- Recognizing strengths you may have difficulty seeing in yourself
I will not expect you to arrive with everything figured out. We will work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and find tools that fit your personality, circumstances, and goals.
Why I Became a Therapist
I have been curious about mental health work since I was young. I remember watching shows such as Law & Order and being fascinated by the mental health professionals who helped people navigate complicated and difficult situations. The work seemed both unique and complex, and I became interested in how therapists could support people through moments that might otherwise feel impossible.
My connection to this work is also personal. I lost my mother at a young age, which gave me an understanding of how difficult it can be to navigate grief, trauma, and major life challenges. That experience contributed to my desire to support people during painful moments and help them continue moving forward without giving up on themselves.
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Human Services, I spent time outside school before feeling strongly called to continue my education. I returned in 2023 to pursue my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling.
I have always considered myself patient, approachable, and easy to talk to, but becoming a therapist taught me that counseling involves much more than being a good listener. I value the opportunity to help clients understand themselves, apply effective therapeutic tools, and create meaningful change. I also look forward to continuing to learn and grow throughout my career.
Outside the Office
Outside the therapy room, traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy visiting new places, trying unfamiliar activities, and having new experiences, but I also genuinely love relaxing at home.
I describe myself as an ambivert: part introvert and part extrovert. I appreciate connecting with people and exploring new things, while also valuing quiet time to recharge. I understand that people can hold seemingly opposite qualities at the same time, and I welcome the many different parts of who you are into therapy.
